The Connexions Training Diploma in Integrative Counselling with a Christian Perspective has been an established programme for the last 25 years. This course has enabled hundreds of students to train and graduate in counselling, many of whom have contributed to the field of counselling in the UK and Ireland. One of the unique features of this course is the inclusion of a Christian Perspective, which enables learners to view the core theoretical models of counselling through the lens of a christian worldview.
Connexions Training Ireland partner with Vital Pathways in Scotland, sharing lectures, online learning opportunities, and gathering together at Summer School which will be facilitated at the end of year 1. This network of learners is a vital source of connection, impacting the field of counselling in Ireland, Scotland, and beyond.
Our vision is to ‘make connexions for life’, strengthening communities through equipping and mobilising the church body to be ‘healthy helpers’ in their pursuit to share the love of God through acts of compassion and care.
The course is delivered face-to- face and also includes an element of online engagement to maximise learning. Where necessary, students will be directed to an Online Learning Platform to participate in lectures, skills practice, large and small group discussion and research based activities. Students will interact with, and have full support from their tutors throughout the course, including the online facilitation.
In-person lectures are facilitated by Course Directors Laura Wylie and Lynn Millar, along with the core course tutors. Theological and spiritual input, from a Christian perspective, will be facilitated by a notable team of Pastors, Church Leaders and Theologians. Each morning will commence with a time of worship and biblical input.
This course is designed to enhance knowledge and develop vital skills that are necessary in the counselling role, however a fundamental part of the Diploma programme is to provide opportunities for students to grow in their interpersonal skills, and develop a deeper sense of self-awareness. As such, students are encouraged to be open to self-exploration and development.
“Great teaching, great learning experience!”
